Some Topics in Sampling Theory* by H. L. Rietz

1. Introduction. Many important contributions have been made to "small or exact sampling theory" since 1908, when "Student's" contribution f created a new interest in the subject. A general notion of the extent of the literature on this topic may be obtained by an examination of the excellent survey by P. R. Rider $ in 1930. Next, J. O. Irwin § gave valuable reports on this literature for appro...

Some Topics in Asymptotic Group Theory

1. ENUMERATION There is nothing unusual about asymptotics in fmite group theory: there are a number of known (or even well-known) asymptotic results. While these are not really the subject of this paper, it seems appropriate to begin with some especially intriguing examples (the fIrst and last of which will be need later).

Some Topics in Prime Number Theory

(ii) p has no divisor other than 1 and itself We denote by P the set of all primes and we write the elements of P in the increasing order as p 1 < p 2 < p 3 < · · · Now consider = p 1 · · · p n + 1. Observe that is an integer > 1. Therefore there exists q ∈ P with q |. Then q = p i for 1 ≤ i ≤ n since q || − 1. Thus q > p n. We started with primes p 1 , · · · , p n and we found a prime q > p n....

Fuzzy Class Theory: Some Advanced Topics

The goal of this paper is to push forward the development of the apparatus of the Fuzzy Class theory. We concentrate on three areas: strengthening the universal quantifier, formalizing the idea that ‘similar’ fuzzy sets fulfill their properties to ‘similar’ degrees, and embedding of classical crisp theories into Fuzzy Class theory.
